12 months ago Sunflower was engaged by ASDA to develop a web based solution for their Optical and Pharmacy Locum resourcing business. Sunflower were referred to ASDA by an existing client Centre Locum Link in Derby. CLL had been using a bespoke locum resourcing application from Sunflower for the last 12 years. ASDA's requirement was to link Locums that worked for them directly to the requirements of a store. Locums register their details on the website before having their qualifications validated by an administrator. Approved locums are then contacted by the stores based on the resourcing requirement. Since it's launch a steady flow of locums have been joining the asdalocums.com community. In July 2009 this reached 3000 locums with over 70,000 emails being generated by the application which uses email work flow as part of the registration process. Enhancements such as proximity calculations - the distance a locum is from a store based on their postcode have allowed Asda to target Locums close to the stores with resourcing requirements.
